This black and white, double page spread was designed for a public audience and meant to illustrate the beauty and ecological relevance of a wildflower: Butterflyweed (Asclepias tuberosa). The left side illustrates the lifecycle of this herbaceous, perennial wildflower, native to North America. 

Other callouts highlight its mature anatomy, as well as its relationship to the monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus)
